Jose Mascorro, Principal and Founder

Jose is an affordable housing professional with over 18 years of experience.  Prior to founding Mascorro and Associates, Jose served in multiple leadership roles to one of the largest nonprofit affordable housing providers in South Texas.  With his leadership and during his tenure, the organization successfully launched and leased twenty newly constructed/renovated tax credit and section 8 communities, successfully managed a $305 million portfolio of assets, and accessed various funding to not only support the real estate development work but resident service programs including a $500,000 grant from the Texas Veterans Commission.   

Jose holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M University, College Station, a NonProfit Leadership Certificate from UTSA, and multiple affordable housing management certifications.
